Dumb Luck

The Kentucky Derby was yesterday so I went to the local track. I decided before I left I was going to bet $20-25 on the race. I also knew which horses I would bet on Hold Me Back and Advice. I arrived at the track and about 25 minutes to the race I found an open betting machine and bet $8 on each horse and got a $4 voucher for the left over money I did not use.

The plan was to find a different race to use that for. I walked around for a while looking for a race to bet but the TVs were all crowded. Then the plan was just cash in my voucher but all the lines were too long. I saw an open betting machine and decided to place another bet on the derby. I placed the $4 on a long shot Mine That Bird to show and found a place to watch the race. The race started my horses where all towards the middle of the pace but once they made the turn for home I saw a horse charging from the rail. The horse ran passed everyone and won easily and then I realized it was one of my horse Mine That Bird.

The $4 bet turned into $51.60 so I took my $31.60 profit and went home.

Podcampaz 2008

Last weekend was PodcampAZwhich was a great time.  I would like to thank everyone that put on the event.  The sessions were nice.  The best part thought was seeing all the people some I meet before and some I saw for the first time.  Sorry this was so short I’m not much of a writer.  Well until next time take care.

PodcampAZ 2.0

We now have one week until Podcamp.  I can’t wait to see people I meet there last year and meet some new people.  This year we also have 2 days of it.  Well if you’re here the night before and want something to do I suggest going to Tempe Marketplace for Hoobstank and Saving Abel free concert.  If anyone in west Phoenix is willing to give me a ride to one or both events it would be appreciated.

Update

I had a friend ask me the other day if I still blog.  I told him yes but I really don’t have anything to say.  So here is a quick update I been looking for work I applied at a few places, but haven’t got any calls back yet.  I also went to a few movies Iron Man, The Happening, and The Incredible Hulk.  I liked all of them Iron Man was my favorite of them.  I also went to a few baseball games and that is about it.

United States Marine Corps

Well today is the United States Marine Corps 232nd birthday.  I mention this because my  mom used to call my grandfather this date every year because he was a Marine.  My mom now asked me if I know what this day is even though I’m not a marine to see if I remember.  So I thought I would write a little blog about.  So to all the Marines out there happy birthday.  Just a little side note on the day I was born the first thing out my grandfather’s mouth was it the anniversary of the Battle of Incheon in which he was apart of.  To all other service man and woman I also thank you and have a great Veteran’s Day weekend.  I hope this made some sense, and I didn’t ramble onto much.

An Idiot at podcampaz

Yesterday I went to podcampaz. Podcamp is a place where you get to talk to different people from social media. Well on my way I hoped I wouldn’t get lost because it was on the other side of town. I don’t know that side at all. I got a little lost but eventually found it.

I walked in a registered and then I was walking around to try to find my first session. While I was walking around I happened to pass by IJustine she was talking to someone so I didn’t want to bother her.

I found the session it was ‘Social Networking: Being a social puddle jumper’ with Clintus McGintus. Also attending the session was IJustine and Acydlord, Smojo, and Joely from her chat room. The session went it all the different sites for networking such as twitter, last.fm, flickr, myspace, facebook, and others. So after the session I go, introduce myself to Acydlord, Smojo, and Joely then hang out them. I’m not sure they wanted me tagging along, but they let me so thanks guys. The next session, we were going to go was Destination Media with IJustine and Jason Waldrip from Viddler but the session was pushed back. So went tried to decide what we should go to next. On the way to the next session is where I met IJustine and we talked to her for a little while. We get to the next session and the presenters never showed up so we just sat there and talked.The we went to Sonic for lunch and listened to a few songs from Jody Gnat.The third session, we attended was Ask A Kent with Kent Nichols from Ask A Ninja. We talked about how he got started and other things about Ask A Ninja.

The last session, we attended was the Destination Media with IJustine and Jason Waldrip from Viddler. They went over some stuff from Viddler like tags and video comments also IJustine answered some questions. After the session I said goodbye to IJustine and went home.

I had a great time.
